travel perfect

Jetsetting off to glamorous Katy, Texas this afternoon to celebrate Christmas with Evs' familia.  Thus, I'm sporting my new Travel Uniform.  Short trip or long, you can't go wrong (rhyme!) with leggings, easy-on-easy-off flats, and a comfy - but not sloppy! - pullover.

Flats make airport security lines an absolute snap, and leggings make sitting down for long periods of time bearable.

Oatmeal Pullover - Ann Taylor Loft
Orange Tee (underneath) - Michael Stars
Leggings - Hue via Nordstrom
Gunmetal "Lissie" Flats - Tory Burch via Neimans
Gold Flower Earrings - J.Crew
Turquoise Clover Necklace - Francesca's Collection
Gold Medallion Necklace - wedding present

Together with an over-sized sweater, cardigan, or wrap, you have a look that is 100% lounge-worthy, yet you don't have to shlep around the airport looking like so:

On an unrelated note, I had a question regarding lip stain... I have two that I love.

(1) Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Mulberry - This darker and more opaque.  Apply with a lip brush, then apply lip liner.  Wait a couple of minutes and then dab gloss on top.

(2) Pixie Sheer Cheek Gel in Flushed - Yep, not actually a lip stain but I use it for cheeks and lips. For a lip stain, pat on with your fingers or brush (fingers work better but the product will stain them) - apply several thin layers.  Allow to dry, then apply gloss over.  This will stay put for HOURS - just reapply the gloss!  Also, I bought mine at Target but it appears you can't buy the "Flushed" color there any more (at least online).

  3. Fantastic travel attire. I'm currently planning mine for tomorrow--thus far, black yoga pants, cream oversized sweater with pink tee shirt underneath and probably my running shoes--not so easy on easy off or fancy as flats, but, you know ,they take up a lot of room in the suitcase, so, wearing them saves space.... uh...airports...

Please tweet lots while you're there. It's entertaining. ;)

  6. Isn't Renee Zellweger from Katy? I hope you run into her, and can tell me how skinny she is in person- can you see her from the side, or does she disappear?

I wish you were carrying THE PURSE.

  7. I lived in Katy for the first 8 years of my life. It really is far from glamourous. Suburbia...

I love your outfits. A lot.

  9. Is the Loft pullover this season? I saw one similar in the store but not sure that it's the one you're sporting. I was just curious to know if you are pleased with how it looks after washing a few times... the fabric weirded me out in the store a bit.

  11. Hahaha whoa, I bought the Pixi cheekstain in "flushed" earlier today after running out of it in "rosy". I love the stuff! Glad to see there's another fan out there, mmhm.

I always get sad, sitting in airports and seeing frumpy dressers. I mean, you don't need to traipse around in 4" heels and a dress, but you don't need to look like a total hot mess of a britney spears slob, KWIM? Your outfit is perfection. :)

HAVE FUN IN TEXAS. Ya'll. Texans say that a lot. Right?
