One of my favorite work shells, this apricot silk number from Banana Republic is an example of a high-quality professional wardrobe piece that will last forever if proper care is taken!  I've had it for five years and regularly wear it with brown, black, navy, and gray suits, as well as belted with skinny jeans for nights out!

Since I have dinner plans with one of my favorites, this top is perfect for the work-to-cocktails transition!  And I ADORE the neckline detail - perhaps the best part being that the basket-weave is so tight that regular nude bra straps don't show through!  Three Cheers for No Strapless Bras at Work!

  1. Your waist looks tiny! Love the detail!

  2. Love this outfit. I have this top in green and it is one of my favorites.

  3. That's beautiful and brings up a question I've been meaning to ask for a while. How do you care for your clothing? I can't afford to buy high-end pieces, unless they're on super clearance, but I do try to take care of what I do have. However, I notice my cotton cardis pill quickly and I would think pilling is a problem with a lot of sweaters no matter the price point. Thoughts?

  4. Damn you waist is tiny Kate.......Wow, tell the secret!

  5. Love that top! And I am all about finding ways around a strapless bra at the office.

  6. Really cute top! And for the record, I won't wear a strapless bra EVER! I either freeball it or let the straps show cause I can't take the pain of a strapless!

  7. Cute! I like the look. I also am an attorney working for a non-profit and am always looking for ways to look work-appropriate. Yours is now a daily-visited blog for me!

  8. I love that top! A perfect day to night piece.
